Low Profile Tyres

Low profile tyres are designed with particularly lower aspect ratio than conventional tyres. Aspect ratio is the two-digit number after the slash mark in a tyre size and is expressed as a percentage of the tyre’s width.

An aspect ratio of 55 and below is broadly accepted as low profile in many markets. The term ultra low profiles, is used to refer to as little as 30 of aspect ratio.

Low profile tyres are engineered to deliver precise handling on sport oriented/high performance cars. Low profile tyres can be used to vary the performance of an after market car. However, they can be counter productive especially in an aftermarket modification. We strongly advise drivers to seek guidance before converting.
